The U.S. National Park Service (NPS) was created in 1916 to preserve the natural beauty of different locations. Although the NPS was created in 1916, the first national park dates back to 1872.

On March 1, 1872, President Ulysses S. Grant signed the Yellowstone National Park Protection Act into law, making it the first national park.

From the famous Yellowstone National Park to Gateway Arch National Park, there are 63 national parks across the nation.
